Lost & Spare Ford Keys

Earlier Ford models use a red‑chip transponder system. The chip, which deactivates the immobiliser, is hidden inside the head of the key and is often identified by a small red square. Fully red‑headed keys were master keys used in older systems. When all keys are lost on these models, two new keys must be programmed back into the system before the vehicle will start.
